After a challenging few years, a woman from York has finally secured the business she’s always dreamed of.
Aimee Hetherton is a hairdresser with years of experience, who’s earned a spot among York’s top ten hairdressers and has travelled across Europe for photo shoots. Now, she’s about to begin an exciting new chapter.
For the last six years Aimee has been searching for the perfect premises to call her own, but up until now has had now luck.

However, that changed last month when she officially became the owner of a brand new salon, Eventus Hair, located in Fulford.
Translating to ‘this is successful’ in Latin, Aimee named the salon as a heartfelt tribute to her late parents.
“My mum was very much into the meaning of things, and my father was a very successful businessman, so Eventus brings in both of these things,” Aimee said.
March 2024 was a particularly difficult time in Aimee’s life. After losing her father, she felt a strong push to take her business to the next level.
“It made me want to do something bigger with my business,” she added.
During that same week, Aimee’s son became seriously ill with Covid-19, and was later diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
“This period of my life was horrific and I just needed to work to keep myself going, my world was crashing down,” Aimee said.
Following her father’s funeral, Aimee felt more determined than ever to find the right space.
Almost a year later in February 2025, when the Fulford property became available, Aimee knew it was worth the wait.
“This is somewhere I have always wanted and I felt like my dad had set this up for me, my dream salon,” Aimee added.
The salon will be hosting an official launch night on Friday 2 May, with a full opening planned a few weeks later.
Aimee looks forward to welcoming both new faces and regular clientele to her new home on Fulford Road. She says she can’t wait to get started.
