Fire crews were called to fires in Acomb twice last night (Tuesday).
The first call was at 7.16pm.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a small fire in a wooded area.
“Crews located a pallet on fire that they extinguished using one hose reel jet.”
They were called again at 8pm to a report of a fire in the open.
“Crews located a small fire in woodland that they extinguished using a knapsack sprayer,” the spokesperson said.
