A serious crash has closed the A64 this afternoon (Monday).
It is shut between the the B1258 (West Knapton) and A169 (Malton/Norton) due to a serious collision involving two vehicles.
All emergency services went to the collision around 12.30pm.
Diversions are in place – see below.
Eastbound diverted traffic is advised to follow the hollow circle diversion symbol:
- Driving East, exit the A64 at the Old Malton offslip road and proceed to the end of the slip road.
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A169 and proceed along this road for approximately 8 miles to the roundabout with the A170.
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A170 and proceed along this road for approximately 20 miles until reaching A64 (Seamer Road) in Scarborough.
Westbound diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol:
- Exit the A64 at the Musham Bank Roundabout.
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto B1261 and proceed along this road for approximately 1 mile.
- At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto B1261 and proceed along this road for approximately 3 miles to the roundabout with the A170.
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto A170 and proceed along this road for approximately 15 miles to the roundabout with the A169.
- At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A169 and proceed along this road for approximately 8 miles to the junction with the A64 (Pickering Interchange).
- At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit to rejoin A64 West.
