The 2020 Christmas Tractor display near Pocklington on the A1079 is finally back again after months of hard work work. If you are a regular user of the York to Hull road then you may have seen it at Hayton village last year.
You will notice some changes for 2020 as Farmer Andrew Wilkinson has decided to retire the John Deere 6820 machine and introduce to you the John Deere 6155m instead.
It includes front fenders, steering front wheels and a lifted plough all decked out in brightly coloured, sparkling christmas lights which really stand out on a frosty evening.
But that’s not all!
Andrew told YorkMix
“This year brings a brand new addition to the collection, something I have thought about for a few years and I finally built it, based on my Dad’s Landrover Defender 90.
What better tribute to him then to build one, so here it is the Christmas Landrover, many many thanks go out to Dave and Janet Watson of Hayton, for lending me there garden for a month to display it.”
Once again it’s all in aid of Cancer Research UK, in memory of his father who passed away in 2006 after a battle with cancer. Every year he has attracted hundreds of people into the village to see his Christmas Tractor display and it has even featured on the East Yorkshire version of BBC Look North in the past.
Andrew said: “I wish you all a wonderful Christmas, lets try our best to end this year on a positive note. For all location information and further details please see the Facebook page The Christmas Tractor
This year there will be no collection box outside, so please donate through www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thechristmastractor and leave your name with your donation, then please drop me a message via the Christmas tractor page so I have a point of contact if you win one of the amazing prizes I have been given this year”
