Having completed a long and tiring night shift at York Hospital, she was ready to ride home.
But the woman worker discovered that during the night someone had cut through her bike lock and stolen her cycle.
That was on Thursday night (14 May). The good news is, she wasn’t without transport for long.
Eagle-eyed Police Community Support Officers on patrol in York spotted a man riding a bicycle which appeared to match the description of the stolen one.
Officers questioned the man and were able to establish this was the stolen bike, which has now been returned to its owner.
The 31 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently in police custody.
Sadly we have no news on another bike theft at the hospital which was stolen from a volunteer and reported on Twitter. Please help if you can.
