A red party you say? Ruddy marvellous
It’s a red letter day for York – Saturday, February 22. That’s when residents are invited to a ruddy good party in the city centre.
Supporters of the British Heart Foundation are organising an event in support of the charity’s Ramp Up The Red campaign to help fight the UK’s single biggest killer, coronary heart disease.
The Red Party takes place on the top floor of the Pitcher & Piano on Coney Street, York, on Saturday, February 22 from 7.30pm. The event promises an evening of red revelry and red-iculous red outfits.
Dancing, retro party games, a red / heart-themed bake off competition and “best dressed in red” competitions are on the menu.
“Every February the British Heart Foundation asks everyone to organise red-themed fundraising and we thought The Red Party was a perfect way to raise much-needed funds to fight heart disease and bring together BHF volunteers, supporters, friends and family for an enjoyable evening,” said the BHF’s Sharon Oakley, the event organiser.
Sharon thanked businesses who have donated prizes for the night, including Tempus Bar and Restaurant at the Royal York Hotel, Ashfields Restaurant at York College, Warehouse, Ambience Café Bistro, Café Concerto, Crumbs Cupcakery, The Bakery at 139 in Leeds, Millie’s Cookies, Burgin’s Perfumery, The York Roast Co, Nestlé, and Pitcher & Piano York.
“We are also thrilled that the folks at Me and Mrs Fisher will be our Bake Off judges,” said Sharon
