A teenage cyclist was hurt after being forced into railings by a motorist in York city centre.
The incident happened at around 7.45pm on Sunday (June 19), when both the cyclist and car were travelling from St Leonards Place onto Bootham.
The car cut the cyclist up forcing him into the railings that line the pavement on the corner.
“The cyclist collided with the railings and he came off over the top of the railings, causing injury to his ribs,” a police spokeswoman said.
The cyclist sustained a deep graze and bruising to his ribs, but didn’t need to go to hospital.
The car, described as a silver Vauxhall, did not stop. A member of staff from a shop nearby came out to check if the cyclist was OK.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information to get in touch.
