The body of a woman was found by a group of children on a York nature reserve on Monday morning (January 25).
York police were called to Clifton Backies by the ambulance service to reports of a sudden death at 8.36am.
Local reports say that the woman was discovered by a group of schoolchildren.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Police said:
Sadly, the woman, who was aged in her 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are not treating her death as suspicious and are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
The woman’s next of kin have been informed, but the police are not yet in a position to release her identity.
