Shoppers heading to Monks Cross enjoyed some free entertainment at the weekend.

Young performers soundtracked their bargain hunt with a selection of songs from the shows.

The entertainers were all from the Pauline Quirk Academy – PQA York.

Different groups performed songs from Blood Brothers and Into The Woods, and there were a number of solo singers too.

The al fresco concert ended with everyone singing Defying Gravity from the West End hit Wicked.

PQA students from across York and beyond learn about all aspects of showbusiness – stage and screen – at their academy which takes place on Saturdays at Huntington School.
