Thieves steal cash from York football changing room during a match

The changing rooms next to a York football pitch were broken into and cash stolen as the players contested an Easter Sunday match.

Thieves broke into the changing block on Sim Balk Lane, near to York College, by forcing the locked door.

As the match went on between 10.15am and 12.15pm on Sunday (April 5) they stole cash from the players’ bags.

York police are appealing for help from the public to catch those responsible.

The changing rooms are situated near a main road which is believed to have been busy on the morning of the break-in.

Officers are appealing to anyone who was passing at the time and saw any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the changing block to contact them – details below.
