Have you seen this man? He boarded a train at York – and police believe he stole another passenger’s suitcase.
British Transport Police officers released these CCTV images of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.
It happened on the Newark to Durham on Saturday, January 31.
Investigating officer PC Wayne Brown said:
The victim, a 20-year-old woman from Newcastle, had boarded the service at Newark and sat in coach H. She checked on her bag as the train left Durham station and discovered it was missing.
After reviewing CCTV on board the train, a man is captured boarding the train at York. He then walks around a number of carriages on the train acting suspiciously before stealing the victim’s case and leaving the train at Durham.
He asked anyone with information to get in touch.
