
An 11-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after he was in collision with a double decker bus in York.
The accident occurred on Tadcaster Road, near to the junction with Pulleyn Drive, at around 8.10am on Friday (January 23).
Fire crews from Acomb, Huntington and Tadcaster assisted paramedics in releasing the boy from underneath the bus.
He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary suffering from injuries to his head, arms and legs.
The road was closed between Pulleyn Drive and the traffic lights at Hob Moor, while specialist collision investigators conducted their enquiries at the scene. It was reopened by midday.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.
