Man dies after being hit by a car as he crossed the A64

A 51-year-old man died after being hit by a car as he crossed the A64 near York.

The pedestrian was struck by a silver Hyundai i10 on the eastbound carriageway as he crossed the A64 at Bilborough, at around 10.30pm on Monday (December 15).

He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The man’s family has been informed, but his identity has not yet been released.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision.
