The team behind a York hotel say they are ‘incredibly proud’ of being named among the best in Britain.
No 1 By GuestHouse on Clifton has been revealed to be in the top 1% of traveller’s favourite hotels in the UK on Tripadvisor.
That has seen it named among the Best of the Best Hotels in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards.
The hotel at number 22 in the list of 25. And it is not the only North Yorkshire representative – Rudding Park in Follifoot near Harrogate is at 24.
It puts them among some famous name hotels which are also on the list, including Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire and the Hotel Café Royal in London.
Tripadvisor says: “The Travellers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel.
“It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Out of our 8 million listings, fewer than 1% achieve this milestone.”

No 1 by GuestHouse has 38-rooms including three suites, the GuestHouse Pantry, The Spa at No. 1, the Rhubarb Bar and neighbouring restaurant Pearly Cow.
