Another key road in York has been hit by a water main burst.
A section of Strensall Road, Earswick is shut and repairs are underway.
The closure is in place between The Garden Village and Earswick Chase. The road is expected to reopen on Thursday morning.
Road closure, Earswick
Yorkshire Water has completed a repair to the burst water main. But the road surface on both sides of the road has been damaged and will need to be reinstated before the road can be safely reopened.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “We experienced a burst water main on Strensall Road, Earswick, earlier this week.
“The main has been repaired but the burst caused consequential damage to both sides of the carriageway which needs to be repaired.
“The repairs will be carried out on Wednesday (30 April) and we expect the road to reopen early on Thursday morning. We apologise for any inconvenience while this repair is being carried out.”
It is the latest of a series of road closures because of pipe failures.
In recent weeks, Walmgate, Fishergate and the junction of James Street and Lawrence Street were all closed after main bursts.
