Police arrested four teenagers following the attempted robbery of a delivery driver in York.
They responded to a 999 call from the Hull Road area of the city centre just after 6pm yesterday (Thursday).
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver reported being accosted and assaulted by a group of youths before some of his attackers entered the van.
“They then ran off.
“We searched the area and arrested three suspects within 20 minutes of receiving the call.
“A fourth was arrested at a house in Tang Hall.”



In all, two girls, both aged 14, and two boys aged 14 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into custody.
They have been bailed and the investigation is ongoing.
