A York bridge was closed by the police tonight (Wednesday).
Ouse Bridge was shut both ways to both traffic and pedestrians.
It was taped off with officers guarding both ends.
The York Rescue Boat was also scrambled. They were in the Ouse close to the bridge.
The team said they were called out by the police and fire service shortly before 7pm.
By 7.45pm the bridge had reopened.
