Holgate Road has now reopened following a crash in York earlier this morning (Tuesday).
The road was shut in both directions, causing major delays.
The collision took place in the area of the Chancery Rise junction close to the pedestrian crossing and near The Fox pub.

Several police vans and ambulances attended the scene.
The AA reported: “Road blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on A59 Holgate Road both ways from Wilton Rise to B1224 Acomb Road (The Fox traffic lights).”
Few details are available at the moment. Witnesses have said a pedestrian or a cyclist might be involved.
