A new restaurant set to open in York soon has revealed how it will look.
YorkMix revealed in November that Pranzo Italian is to bring its Calabrese cooking to the city this year.
The fourth branch of the Yorkshire chain plans to open on Church Street, in the Yo! Sushi building, this spring.
Now plans are in for the transformation of the building, which dates back to 1836-39 and is Grade II listed.
It will have a new timber fascia with the name of the restaurant and the legend ‘Proudly independent since 2018’.

And a round sign will hang above the ground floor on a metal bracket.
Pranzo Italian was created by chef-owner Marco Greco. It has three existing restaurants in Ilkley, Harrogate and Horsforth.
The York business will create 50 jobs. On its website, it says: “Pranzo York is the fourth Italian restaurant to open in the Pranzo family.
“By spring 2025 we’ll have created an authentic Italian dining space on Church Street in York.
“Our menu takes its inspiration from owner Marco’s family heritage in Calabria, Southern Italy.

“It was here Marco watched his Nonna (grandmother) make homemade pasta mixed with ingredients picked from their garden. We make everything in-house, our pasta is made fresh daily, alongside our bread, sauces and desserts.”
It will open between Monday and Saturday from 12pm to 11pm, and Sunday 12pm to 10pm.
The menu includes Prazno lasagne at £17.95 and handmade lobster ravioli at £20.95. There’s a £10 lunch menu, vegan menu, kids menu, and Sunday roasts starting at £19.95.
