“Fire crews from Malton, Acomb, Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside, Danby, Ripon and Selby, along with their specialist equipment including swift water rescue gear, boat and a high volume pump from Richmond, were deployed to assist in pumping away flood water and rescue residents.

“The Red Cross were also called upon to assist after a large number of residents were moved to local shelters having been displaced due to the flooding and the council and emergency planning departments assisted with sandbags and support.”
