A historic York house is getting ready to sparkle this Christmas – with dazzling decorations and new eye-catching exhibition.
The Bar Convent on Blossom Street are inviting York to celebrate the ‘Gifts of Christmas’ in their festive exhibition, featuring artwork from young local creatives.
Gifts of Christmas is at The Bar Convent from Thursday 28 November to Thursday 19 December.
The exhibition will include a collection of digital artwork inspired by Viborg, where heritage seamlessly intersects with cutting-edge technology.
Talented young artists from local schools like Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and St George’s RC Primary, along with learners from Blueberry Academy, and ESOL students from York College will be creating new artwork inspired by the ‘Gifts of Christmas’.
There will also be a display of pop-punk tributes to the Book of Kells and the works of William Blake.
The aim of the exhibition is to celebrate drawing as the universal language of creativity and to spread positivity and unity during the magical Christmas season.
In addition to the exhibition, the Georgian Parlour will also be dressed for Christmas.
