An immersive world of optical illusions and interactive exhibits is set to open in York next year.
The extraordinary new attraction The Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring will open on Merchantgate in January, promising more 20 spellbinding illusions.
Inspired by the mythical 19th-century York inventor, Professor Kettlestring, guests will embark on a journey through his eccentric world – where gravity seems to defy logic and children suddenly appear taller than their parents!
Visitors will be able to walk into a sideways living room, disappear into an incognito chamber, and discover a a kitchen parlour where heads appear severed on platters.
The new venture is the brainchild of Matthew and Marianne Tritton-Hughes, who are bringing more than 45 years of customer service and hospitality experience into crafting this magical new venture.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring this unique attraction to York,” said founders Matthew and Marianne.
“We can’t wait to see visitors’ imaginations run wild and their perceptions turned upside down!
“Whether you’re a York resident or a visitor, this is your chance to step into the bizarre and wonderful world of Professor Kettlestring – where seeing is definitely not always believing.”
The grand opening in January 2025 features a special opening offer, with tickets starting at £8.99.
