The countdown is officially on for the opening of Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland for 2024.
Preparations are well underway for the opening of the festive favourite at York Designer Outlet, with the construction of the outdoor ice rink and installation of the 30ft high Christmas tree – including a giant Haribo bear tree-topper!
Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland will be at York Designer Outlet from Friday 15 November 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025.
This year, the headline sponsor for Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is the leading sweets manufacturer Haribo.
For over one hundred years, Haribo have been creating much-loved sweet treats – with favourites such as Starmix, Tangfastics, Supermix and Giant Strawbs.
The huge Haribo-themed Christmas tree will sit at the centre of the ice rink, and topped with a Haribo Goldbear.
Georgi Wood, event organiser of Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland said: “We are delighted to welcome Haribo as our headline sponsor for Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.
“Haribo likes to bring happiness to all ages and so do we, so a fun collaboration lies ahead. Goldbear will be the perfect festive topper for our Christmas tree and we’ll also have some fun new decorations and theming around the event, making Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland the ideal place for the Christmas selfie!”
As well as ice skating, Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland offers fun for all ages at the fairground – with a Ghost House, Dodgems, children’s rides and game stalls.
The will also be a festive market, Santa’s log cabin grotto where a warm welcome and special gift for children awaits, and plenty of food and drink offerings.
There’s the cosy alpine-themed Chalet café or outdoor terrace, and new for 2024 is the outdoor German Grill, with sizzling gourmet sausages and spiced drinks.
