A woman has died after falling from a window in a tragic accident in York.
It happened at Ryedale House on Piccadilly yesterday (Tuesday).
As YorkMix reported, police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the street that morning, and the road was cordoned off for a time.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “We received a report of concern for the welfare of a woman in an apartment on Piccadilly, York, shortly after 11am yesterday morning – emergency services attended the location.
“Tragically, the woman fell from a window, and suffered fatal injuries.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received an emergency call yesterday morning (Tuesday) to an incident in Piccadilly, York.
“Ambulance resources were dispatched to the scene.”
A smaller cordon remained in place last night but had been lifted this morning.
Ryedale House was converted to apartments after serving as local government offices for many years.
