A well-known restaurant brand has closed its York branch.
The Harvester on Stirling Road, Clifton Moor is now shut.
The website says the venue is “temporarily closed” and you can “book a table for when it re-opens”. However, the branch’s web page has been taken down.
And a sign on the window says “We are now closed as a business”. It directs people to the Colton Mill Harvester in Leeds and the Winding Wheel branch in Castleford.
Harvester Clifton Moor included some of the signatures of the chain, including rotisserie chicken, and unlimited helpings from the salad bar.
It opened from 11.30am to 10pm from Monday to Thursday and 9am to 11pm Friday and Saturday.
Harvester is one of the brands owned by hospitality business Mitchells & Butlers.
In May this year, it said profits had doubled for the previous half-year as it benefited from easing cost inflation.
But in the last quarter, it revealed slower sales growth, blaming damp summer weather and disruption from UK riots in August. However, total sales had risen by 5.9%.
Bella Italia and the Caramba Steakhouse, which flank the York Harvester, are still open for business.
