The popular pop-up tipi bar, Thor’s, returns to York Museum Gardens from this week.
Get into the seasonal spirit as this Christmas favourite is back at the Museum Gardens from Friday 25 October all the way until Tuesday 31 December.
For 2024, Thor’s is opening earlier in the season – meaning visitors for the October half-term holidays, the Ghosts After Dark events in the gardens, and the Aesthetica Film Festival can join in with the festive fun.
Visitors to the giant tipi can expect the usual Nordic-inspired festive fare with cosy seating, roaring log fires, fire pits, live music, street food, and an expanded drinks menu.
Amanda Monaghan, director at Thor’s said; “We’re really excited to be back at York Museum Gardens this year.
“We had such a great time last year, and with the earlier opening, we’re looking forward to being part of the half-term fun. We can’t wait for everyone to get cosy by the fire, and make memories in our tipi this winter.”
There are a few new additions to this year’s menu – including a Winter Aperol Spritz, German hot chocolate and a ‘reimagined’ mulled wine recipe.
Food offerings will come from local food partners All Gravy, who will serve up their signature loaded fries, Ciao York’s coffee and Italian treats, and Sketch Box’s churros and cookie nachos.
Thor’s at Museum Gardens will be open Mondays to Saturdays from 11am to 10:30pm and Sundays from 11am to 9pm. There will be live music every Thursday from 6pm to 8pm and Sunday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.
The tipi will also be at The Milner Hotel Gardens, formerly known as The Principal, from Thursday 14 November to Tuesday 24 December.
