One of Yorkshire’s most-loved family attractions will turn 20 years old tomorrow.
Today, the Web Adventure Park celebrates two decades of providing fun for families in the city.
And its owners have an exciting announcement for 2025! See below for more details.
Since opening in 2004, the business has evolved from a small indoor play centre to a dynamic children’s entertainment centre.
Managing director Janice Dunphy told YorkMix: “When we first opened we were looking after small children, juggling my husband’s shifts at work and generally learning on the job. Expansion only came about with wanting to survive in all honesty!”
The park now offers acres of indoor and outdoor space, animal zones, fairground rides, live entertainment, and seasonal events such as foam parties.
“When we discovered how seasonal indoor play was, I decided we needed outdoor to combat this, and every challenge we faced we found the solution was to expand or add.
“I’m a great believer in investing in the business and making it fresh. Each year we plough a huge amount into new ideas.
It’s a passion to be better, to give more to see the park grow, we have plans for the next ten years!” Janice said.
The staff have seen families grow alongside the business, with parents bringing their children and those children returning with their own.
“It’s a true testament to the lasting memories we help create. Our 20th anniversary is a proud milestone for us,” she added.
Special offers and news for 2025
To mark the occasion, The Web Adventure Park is launching a few exciting offers for customers to enjoy.
There’s ‘20 days for £20’, 20% off various dates in November and December, and exclusive birthday party discounts.
As The Web Adventure Park celebrates its rich history, it remains committed to evolving and providing exciting additions.
Plans are already in place for further expansions and new attractions in the coming years, ensuring that the park continues to be a top destination for families.
“Our big announcement for spring 2025 is extremely exciting – we’re having a Pirate Ship built to take pride of place in the park!
“We’re also expecting a new Cups and Saucers Carousel to arrive very shortly.
“We still have a few extra new surprises for 2025, we never stand still and we’re set on making the park the best in Yorkshire once we have finished!” Janice said.
Top award
Two months ago, The Web Adventure Park was named among the best in Europe in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2024.
Making it onto the list of the top amusement and water parks in Europe, they secured 11th place against the likes of Disneyland Paris and Alton Towers.
Despite the various accolades the park has collected over 20 years, Janice’s favourite memory remains the same.
“I’ve had so many to be honest, but the one that will forever make me happy is when we offered free visits for vulnerable children to see Father Christmas during the pandemic.
“This little boy came in his wheelchair and we had a few rides on just for each child individually. My team helped to carry him on to the cups and away he went round and round.
“His grandma started to cry and she said it was the first time she had seen him smile in months.
“Covid had meant all his stimulation and enjoyment stopped – and this was the first time he had been out of the house. I will never forget his face.”
In preparation for the last months of the year, the park is gearing up for two huge events.
Their Web’oween and Christmas Festival arrangements are underway to make them the best celebrations yet.
“We have spent a lot of time and money making sure this Christmas is truly special for our customers. We decided to build a new toyshop, added more into the Christmas Village, and the children will receive two gifts from Father Christmas!
“We know that everyone will have an amazing visit with what we have planned! After 20 years of practice, we know what we need to offer for a full day of memories!” Janice added.
