Police came under attack from youths throwing bricks and stones at them in Scarborough last night (Sunday).
It happened at 1am when officers were responding to reports of youths causing anti-social behaviour on Maximus Way.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “On our arrival, we were deliberately targeted with bricks and large stones in a clear attempt to seriously injure officers.
Where it happened
“The youths were throwing the missiles from behind a fence on the building site opposite.
“As we retreated to a safe distance, the youths continued with their behaviour, causing damage to a vehicle parked on Roma Drive.”
One of the suspects is described as
- a white boy
- aged between 14 and 16
- wearing a white top
- black shoes
- black trousers
- and a grey jacket.
A second suspect is described as
- white
- aged 14 to 16
- wearing Nike skinny grey trousers.
