A serious crash on the A64 near York caused traffic problems on Sunday night.
It happened just before 5.30pm and was on the stretch of road close to the Stockton on the Forest turn-off, north east of the city.
Three vehicles were involved, and one overturned.
Crash location
Police, fire and ambulance crews went to the scene.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from York, Acomb and Malton responded to a report of a three vehicle road traffic collision.
“On the arrival of crews, five occupants were out of the vehicles and in the care of ambulance crews.
“Crews made the scene safe and contained a fuel spill from one of the vehicles before assisting the police to carry out a controlled roll of one of the vehicles.
“Crews cleared the roadway from debris and left the incident in the hands of the police.”
There was queueing traffic in both directions. One YorkMix reader told us that, at one point, “the traffic was at a standstill”.
The road has now been cleared and traffic is running normally again.
