The York Ice Trail will return for another sparkling winter weekend.
It will run on 1 and 2 February 2025 with a new array of stunning ice sculptures.
Organised by Make It York, this year’s theme is ‘Origins’. The sculptures are set to be inspired by stories untold, and include mythical creatures and more.
There will be more than 20 ice sculptures on display crafted by Icebox, the UK and Europe’s leading ice sculpture specialist. They will be scattered around various iconic locations between the city walls.
The York Ice Trail is a free event, open to everyone from 10:30am to 4pm on both days, leaving plenty of time to immerse yourself in the magic.
This year’s York Ice Trail, with the theme of ‘City of Dreams’, helped to draw 67,000 visitors to the city across the weekend – with 87% visiting York specifically for the trail. The online survey also showed that nine out of ten visitors would recommend the trail to family and friends.
Sarah Loftus, managing director of Make It York, said: “We’re thrilled to announce the return of the York Ice Trail with the new theme of Origins.
“The popular trail offers the perfect opportunity to explore York’s historic charm, and we can’t wait to share these stunning creations with the community and visitors alike.”
With live carvings, interactive experiences and chances to win fantastic prizes, the York Ice Trail 2025 is sure to be a weekend to remember.
