Police are investigating after a seagull was killed in Whitby.
The bird was shot. It was nesting on a roof in Anchorage Way.
Officers are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

It is an offence under both the Birds Act 1954 and the Wildlife and Countryside act 1981 to kill any bird without the proper authority.
It could land the offender with an unlimited fine or up to six months in prison or in some cases both.
