A North Yorkshire swimming pool is to shut for two weeks due to problems with heating.
There have been ongoing boiler issues at the pool at Selby Leisure Centre.
Now Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, the charity that runs the centre, has said the pool will close soon for maintenance.
In a statement, the charity said: “We have been working closely with North Yorkshire Council and work to install new boilers at Selby Leisure Centre will begin on Monday 8 July and take a maximum of two weeks.
“Unfortunately, this will mean the pool will be closed during this period and we will not have any hot water in the changing rooms. The gym and studios will remain open as normal.
“We apologise for this inconvenience, but the work is needed and as you may appreciate, given the size of the pool, new boiler installations on the scale required isn’t something that can be fitted quickly.”
If the work is completed ahead of schedule, the pool will reopen early. All bookings for this period have been cancelled.
The statement added: “Don’t forget that as part of your membership you also have access to Tadcaster Pool including access to Early Swim, Public Swimming, Adult Lane Swim, Width Swim and Parent and Toddler sessions.
“To access the pool simply check the timetable first and once at reception show that you have an ‘Active’ Direct debit membership with us via your IHL App.”
