Unusually for this year, the rain stayed away, and the annual riot of colour and love that is York Pride was even blessed with some sunshine.
Local schools, universities, charities, businesses and the emergency services all united as one to celebrate diversity, tolerance and equality for all.
It felt like half of York turned out for the city-centre event that made Joseph’s technicolour dreamcoat look monochromatic.
Music, dancing and singing, along with a thousand smiles, delivered a carnival atmosphere as the parade made its (sometimes glacial) way from York Minster to the racecourse.
An afternoon and evening of partying beckoned the crowds.
