There’s a new place in York to get a cold sweet treat fix.
York’s newest gelato shop, Amorino, has now opened on Parliament Street, and the sunny weather is already attracting a lot of visitors to the store.
As YorkMix reported previously, Amorino specialises in serving up authentic Italian gelato in an unique rose shape, and also offers other tasty treats like gelato-filled macarons, crepes, waffles, and sundaes.

Amorino comes to York via Italy and Paris. The gelato brand opened its first store in the heart of Paris in 2002, and was founded by two childhood friends, Cristiano Sereni and Paolo Benassi, who originate from northern Italy.
Inside Amorino York, there is a small seating area with bar stool seating. You order via a touch-screen before your gelato creation is made up for you. Some of the gelato flavours include classics like Vanilla, Chocolate, Pistachio and Mint Chocolate Chip, as well as Tiramisu, Stracciatella, Coconut, and Amarena (cream and black cherries).
There is also a range of sorbet too, with flavours including Mango, Raspberry, Strawberry, Lime and Basil, and Blood Orange.
You can choose between a cup or a cone – or go for the Signature, which features a gelato-filled macaron in the centre of the ice cream rose.
Amorino is also available on Deliveroo and Uber Eats. Online ice cream prices start from £5.90.
