A boat that was resting on the bottom of the River Ouse in York has been brought back to the surface.
The self-drive boat, hired from City Cruises York, sank last Wednesday after it was in collision with one of the company’s larger vessels, the River Duchess.
Six people were thrown into the water. All were rescued and brought to safety. One was taken to hospital.

The self-drive boat, named Josephine, sunk after the crash.
Today, a team of divers located the boat and brought it back to the surface.
A City Cruises York spokesperson said: “Following an incident on April 24th which saw a small, customer-driven City Cruises boat collide with River Duchess, a large City Cruises passenger boat, resulting in the capsizing of the smaller vessel and six individuals finding themselves in the water, we have heard that all involved are safe and well.
“We can confirm that immediate rescue efforts were initiated as a result of the incident. City Cruises staff acted swiftly and heroically to ensure the safety of all individuals involved.
