Enjoy a slice of Naples in York this summer – as a new pizzeria is set to open.
As YorkMix revealed last November, Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana is to open on 5 High Ousegate, in the former home of Shoe Zone.
Now more details have been revealed. The pizzeria will open in York this summer – complete with indoor and outdoor seating.
The restaurant will have approximately 96 covers inside and 25 covers outside, in a courtyard area.
Rudy’s specialises in the authentic Neapolitan tradition of pizza-making – and will serve up classic recipes such as Marinara, Margherita and Calabrese, as well as rotating specials that pay homage to famous pizzerias around the globe.
In accordance with authentic Neapolitan techniques, the dough is cooked in a Stefano Ferrara oven for around 60 seconds – resulting in a soft and light pizza.
Since launching in 2015, Rudy’s has grown from one base in Manchester to 26 pizzerias nationwide.
Neal Bates of Rudy’s York, said: “We look forward to bringing Rudy’s authentic Neapolitan pizzas to this unique and characterful city.
“As well as being steeped in history, York is known for its impressive food and drink scene and vibrant city centre. The team is so excited to join this community, get to know our neighbours and be a part of the magic of these iconic streets.”
Rudy’s York are also recruiting – with opportunities across 30 roles, including supervisors, assistant managers, and pizza chefs.
Pizza makers, or pizzaiolo, will be trained with Rudy’s new launched academy, to learn Rudy’s signature Neapolitan style. Eager applicants can send their CV via [email protected].
