Jon Favreau is the writer, director and star, playing a chef who loses his job after his furious outburst at a restaurant critic goes viral. He quits his job and sets up a food truck in his home time. Also stars Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson.
Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie (12A) – June 27
Either a hilarious old fashioned sitcom, or “the worst comedy ever made”, Mrs Brown’s Boys is a huge ratings hit for the BBC. And now the show, starring Irish comic Brendan O’Carroll in as Agnes Brown, hits the big screen as she battles to save her market stall.

The Fault In Our Stars (12A) – in cinemas June 20
This eagerly anticipated movie adaptation of the best-selling book by John Green sees a young a couple fall deeply in love with one another at a cancer support group. Gus (Ansel Elgort) arranges for Hazel (Shailene Woodley) to visit the author of her favourite book, as they discover that there is more to life than living.

Walking On Sunshine (12A) – June 27
York’s own Greg Wise stars in this lightweight romantic romp. The former St Peter’s schoolboy is joined by Leona Lewis among others for a movie filled with 1980s chart hits.
Jersey Boys (15) – June 20
Already a smash hit musical, Clint Eastwood directs this movie version of the Frankie Valli and Four Seasons story. Starring Christopher Walken.
Documentary
Road (PG) – in cinemas June 11
Narrated by Liam Neeson, this is the heartbreaking story of the Dunlop family; a family willing to sacrifice themselves for their love of motorsports. The film follows the family as they experience everything from triumphant victories, to the backlash of horrendous crashes, both on as well as off road.

NT Live: A Small Family Business (12A) – June 12
Alan Ayckbourn‘s riotous comedy, live streamed from London. Jack McCracken (Nigel Lindsay) likes to think of himself as honourable and idealistic, however he finds himself in a world of corruption.
Ghosts: West End Theatre Series – June 26
After spending a great deal of time mourning over her late husband, Helene (Lesley Manville) decides it’s time to tell her son, Oswald, the truth about his father in this classic play by Henry Ibsen. Oswald, however, is one step ahead, and has previously discovered his heritage of a dissolute life. Richard Eyre directs the play, streamed from the Almeida Theatre in London.
City Screen special
D-Day 70 Years On – June 6 at 7.30pm
Live from the Albert Hall and presented by BBC Radio 2, the live D-Day 70th anniversary concert will be broadcast into the Picturehouse cinema in honour of this historic day. The incredible story is told through drama and narration, featuring Patrick Stewart and Jeremy Vine (pictured above), while Katherine Jenkins performs a virtual duet with Dame Vera Lynn.
