City of York Council has issued a warning about potential flooding in a city suburb on Sunday night.

The Blue Beck in Rawcliffe is forecast to flood.

York council said on Sunday night: “Due to heavy rainfall, river levels are rising on the Blue Beck and flooding is forecast to affect locations near Shipton Road and Blue Beck.

“Our teams are working with partners and monitoring the situation closely.

“Residents are advised to consider putting their flood plan into action, and avoid waking, cycling or driving through flood water.”
