Two elderly casualties were taken to hospital after a crash in North Yorkshire this afternoon (Sunday).
It happened on the A59 at Harrogate.
Emergency services, including fire crews from Harrogate and Ripon, responded at 2.37pm after two vehicles collided.
Firefighters helped ambulance crews with the “difficult extrication of two elderly people”, said a North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson.
“Crews used cutters to remove the front side door to assist with the extrication and also used an environmental pack to protect a nearby drain from oil on the road.
“The two elderly casualties were transported to hospital with minor injuries.”
