Emergency services are dealing with a serious crash on a main road north of York this afternoon (Monday).
It is on the A19 to the south of Easingwold.
Police and the Yorkshire Air Ambulance went to the scene. One YorkMix reader said they were told at 4pm it would be shut for another six hours.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “It happened at around 1.45pm and involved two vehicles.

“Motorists are urged to avoid the route and to follow diversions until further notice.”
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Acomb, Boroughbridge and Huntington responded to a report of a serious road traffic collision.
“Firefighters assisted ambulance crews to extricate a casualty from one vehicle. Crews made all vehicles safe and left the incident with the police.”
