Police and the fire service were called out when some youngsters got trapped early today (Wednesday).
They responded to the incident on Kingsway North at 2.21am.
A North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew from Acomb responded to a request from police to assist in getting through metal gates to allow youths who were stuck behind them to get out.
“On their arrival, crews liaised with responsible person and access gained without fire service action.”
