From Hawkins to York – something tasty and a little bit strange is coming to the city.
That’s right, you can step into Starcourt this month and get a taste of Scoops Ahoy ice cream – inspired by the nautical-themed ice cream parlour featured in Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things.
Netflix made the announcement on social media on Thursday that the Scoops Ahoy ice cream truck will be touring across the country in November, and one of the locations is York.
The UK tour will kick off in London on ‘Stranger Things Day’, 6 November, which marks the anniversary of the day Will Byers went missing in 1983 in series one.
The ice cream truck will visit a number of locations in England and Wales before arriving at the Eye of York on Wednesday 15 November.
Netflix is collaborating with ice cream company Pan-n-Ice to bring you four exclusive Stranger Things-inspired ice cream flavours, and one delicious hot chocolate.
Flavours to try include ‘The Upside Down Bubba’ with a red velvet cookie dough base and hazelnut ice cream, and a ‘U.S.S. Butterscotch’ with a sticky toffee waffle base and butterscotch ice cream.
Stranger Things is an American science-fiction and horror TV show created by the Duffer Brothers for Netflix. It first premiered in 2016, and its most recent series was released in 2022 in two parts.
It was announced last year it will return for a fifth and final season.
Don’t miss your chance to try a taste of the upside down this November!
