A flood warning has been issued for the River Foss in York.
The warning applies to the Foss upstream of Yearsley Baths. It says flooding is expected in this area, and properties are at risk of flooding.
The Environment Agency adds: “Please take action to protect yourself and your property and monitor local weather and river conditions.

“Avoid contact with, walking or driving through flood water. Consider activating any property flood protection products you may have.
“Flood warning area: Homes and businesses from Strensall to Yearsley Baths.”

- the River Derwent at Buttercrambe Mill
- and the River Derwent at Stamford Bridge – The Weir Caravan Park and Kexby Bridge.

There’s also been flooding in Ryedale today. According to North Yorkshire Weather Updates on Facebook Sinnington was cut off by floodwater for a time.
Nearly 50mm of rain fell in Rievaulx. The page adds: “The beck in Hovingham equalled its record height this morning from the extreme flooding of Boxing Day 2015.
“With already saturated ground it only took half the rainfall amount to get to this height.”
The forecast is for more heavy rain this evening, drier on Monday then rain for the rest of the week.
