Its famous coffee might take some time to brew, but its appeal has been instant.
The Dark Horse Espresso Bar has only been opened a matter of days on Bishopthorpe Road and has been packed out the entire time.
Laura and Mark Edwards first set up The Dark Horse Espresso Bar from a horse-box in Shambles Market in 2018.
Their delicious coffee, tasty treats and toasties – all is inspired by the Australian coffee culture – built up a large following in the market.
They anounced plans to expand into a bricks-and-mortar café in April. Now Laura and Mark’s dream to open a café has come true with the new venue open seven days a week, from 7.30am – 6pm.
On Fridays and Saturdays it may be open until 10pm, and 9pm on Sundays.
Serving breakfasts, pastries, their famous coffee and much more, the Dark Horse on Bishy Road has seating indoors and out.
They shared this on their socials “We’d just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that came along and supported us on our opening. We did not expect to have so many people visit us and we are really overwhelmed with how many people came along and feeling extremely grateful.”
