Hold onto your hat, it’s going to get blustery out there.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for high winds for next week.
It could cause some travel disruption, the forecasters say.
The warning runs from 10am on Wednesday to 7am on Thursday, and covers the north of England, southern Scotland and Wales.
The Met Office says: “A spell of strong winds is expected to move northeast through Wednesday, with a small chance that they could be significantly disruptive.”
It adds:
- There is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris
- There is a slight chance of some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs
- There is a slight chance that power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage
- Longer journey times are likely, or cancellations as road, rail, air and ferry services are affected. Some roads and bridges are likely to close.
Elsewhere in the forecast, thundery showers are predicted for York on Tuesday, with a drier end to the week.
