The final Grassroots of the season was an absolute cracker, and one that I was genuinely excited about, as I was invited to York Sports Centre on the University Campus, to watch a sport I’d only ever seen on TV, Wheelchair Rugby League!
Following the success of the England National team in winning the Rugby League World Cup back in 2021, the popularity of the sport has skyrocketed and is now one of the fastest growing sports not only in the UK, but indeed the world.
I was invited to watch a game by the Foundation Delivery Manager at York RLFC, Adam Prentis, as York Knights took on Wakefield Trinity and let me tell you, the match did not disappoint.
