York’s geekiest date in the calendar is almost here – and this year there’s Harry Potter stars, Transformers, and even a Tardis.
York Unleashed Comic-Con will be at York Racecourse on Sunday 3 September.
Unleashed Events are once again hosting another fun and friendly celebration of all things nerdy. Taking place across all six floors of the Knavesmire Stand, the family day out will feature guest appearances, attractions, costume characters, movie vehicles and so much more.

Some of the media guests this year include David Bradley, known for appearing in the huge franchises Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.
Other guests are Bernard Hill (Lord of the Rings), Lee Boardman (Andor), and Richard Gibson (‘Allo! ‘Allo!).
This year they are expecting a very special visitor who will certainly ‘transform’ the geeky event – as Transformers hero Optimus Prime will be making the trip to the popular event.
You certainly can’t have Optimus Prime without Bumblebee so you will also find him in the courtyard at York Unleashed in the form of a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, or in his full robot mode around the venue.

There are other iconic cars to be spotted around the Con too, such as the Back to the Future DeLorean, jeeps from Jurassic Park, and Lightning McQueen from Cars.
Lindsey Jordan of Unleashed Events said, “What a great opportunity to come along and see some of the coolest movie cars of all time.
“However, it is not all about the cars as there is loads to see and do. You can meet celebrity guests, meet characters such as the Hulk Buster and Spiderman, movie scenes and loads and loads of geeky traders. It is a full day out!”
Advance tickets are £12 per adult, and £6 for under 16’s. Advance entry is from 10am.
General entry tickets can be purchased on the door from 11am on the day of the event. These are £10 per person, and discounted rate of £5 for under 16s. It is cash only on the door.
