North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue dealt with two incidents involving fire on Lorries today (14 August)
At 9:30am on Lawrence Street in York, crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a fire in a dustbin lorry. They found a small fire within the rubbish in the lorry.
Crews extinguished it and dampened down the contents before checking for hotspots.
Later in the afternoon at around 4:50pm on the A6055 at Londonderry, crews from Bedale and Northallerton responded to a report of a wagon with a wheel on fire.
Crews located the vehicle and found that the fire was out.
Crews cooled the wheel and monitored for further heat spread.
