The world famous Flying Scotsman locomotive visited York on a special rail tour from London to Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
The rail tour arrived at 3.17pm on Friday afternoon from London Kings Cross. It then departed on Saturday at 09.02am en route to Edinburgh.
The platforms at York were crowded, however most viewers were passengers of the rail tour.
One of the passengers said: “It was nice to see all the people crowding around the line to wave at us, with some schools also coming to wave.”
The rail tour, along with Flying Scotsman, will return to York on Tuesday, where the famous engine will detach from the train and park in its current home, the National Railway Museum.
