A new store will open in York this week – and we are being told to brace for bargains.
Discount chain One Beyond is opening its store at Monks Cross Shopping Park at 10am on Wednesday (21 June).
It is found in the same unit as footwear specialist Schuh, next door to Clarks and Superdrug.
The group has invested a “six-figure sum” to open the York store, creating 30 jobs in the process.
With Yorkshire pedigree – its HQ is in Barnsley – and owners who were the original founders of Poundworld Retail Ltd, One Beyond is all about the bargains.
It promises to stock more than 4,000 products for £1, plus more that go beyond £1.
One Beyond’s range of items includes beauty and personal care, cleaning, toys and tech accessories, home and pet supplies.
When the Monks Cross store opens, it will have lots of summer goodies from fans to paddling tools, plus a plethora of gardening products.
And the shelves will feature brand names such as Coca Cola, Pedigree, Heinz, Kellogg’s and Cadbury’s.
Christopher Edwards, creator and managing director of One Beyond said: “We’re pleased to open our new value store, One Beyond, in York.
“Whilst we have over 4,000 products for £1, we also stock additional ranges which are priced beyond £1.
“Our aim is to provide our shoppers with exceptional value on a great choice of handpicked bargains.
“Now more than ever, when times are financially tighter for so many families, we are proud to be offering incredible savings on hundreds of branded shopping essentials and on-trend items.”
Since the discount chain’s launch two years ago, the independent retailer has opened over 95 stores UK wide with plans for further expansion in 2023.
